Welcome to Walking Meditation with the Tortoises
Walking Meditation with the Tortoises is a short course guided and taught by the Grace Village Desert Tortoises. This practice brings your mind and body into harmony and health and into greater alignment with the Tortoises. There are six course videos.
The Introduction to Walking Meditation is a twenty-minute introductory guide describing the practice of mindfulness meditation with movement that deepens full-bodied connection with Earth. If you have limited space or ability for walking, then you can still participate fully sitting or lying down. After you have viewed and practiced walking meditation then you can watch the next videos to see how Tortoises bring their breath and steps into synchrony and maintain presenceĀ in a space of inner quiet and ease.
Each of the next five videos features one of the endangered disabled Desert Tortoises at Grace Village. Practicing walking meditation and then watching the Tortoises is a way of coming into greater understanding and connection with the Tortoises, step by step. Enjoy.

Walking Meditations with the Tortoises
As you will notice, every individual Tortoise has their own pace. How fast or slow they walk varies with present situation and their mental and physical state. This is Sebastian, a Sulcata Tortoise walking on an Autumn morning at a relatively fast pace, yet in harmony with his breath. Walking meditation is keeping breath and steps in harmony at a pace where you maintain presence, in a space of quiet and ease.
